Privacy Policy

This policy explains what FreePDFKit processes, what stays in your browser, and how analytics, advertising, contact messages, and optional integrations work.

Last updated: August 4, 2026

Local PDF processing

Most PDF operations run in your browser. For a locally processed file, we do not receive, store, or inspect the document contents on our servers. The output is created in your browser and downloaded to your device when you choose to save it.

Limited service measurement

If analytics are enabled, we may receive aggregate page and device information from Google Analytics. We do not intentionally send PDF contents, file names, or document text to analytics or advertising providers.

1. Information we process

Files and tool inputs

Files selected for core browser-based tools are handled in the page and are not uploaded to FreePDFKit for processing. Your browser may download libraries or make ordinary requests needed to load the application. If you choose an optional cloud import or another integration, that provider may process data under its own privacy policy and terms.

Contact messages

If you contact us, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message you submit. We use this information to respond, investigate support issues, protect the service, and keep a reasonable record of the conversation. Please do not send confidential documents or sensitive personal information through the contact form.

Technical information

Our hosting, security, and email providers may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, request time, and error logs. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

2. Analytics and advertising

We may use Google Analytics to understand page visits, approximate device and region information, referrers, and site performance. The analytics configuration is intended for product measurement and does not include the contents of your PDFs.

When Google AdSense or another advertising service is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to show more relevant ads and measure performance.

You can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and learn more about Google's use of data through Google's partner-site data policy. You may also visit AboutAds.info for additional advertising choices.

For visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, advertising and analytics will be configured with a Google-certified consent management platform when required. Consent choices must be clear, freely given where required, and reversible. Do not enable production ads until the applicable consent message and AdSense settings are configured in the publisher account.

3. Cookies and local storage

The site may use browser storage for functional preferences such as language, theme, and local usage counters. These values help the site remember your choices and do not contain the contents of your PDFs.

Analytics and advertising cookies are optional where consent is required. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect preferences, measurement, or advertising features. Where a consent manager is shown, use its settings or privacy link to change your choice.

4. Why we use information

  • Provide and operate the PDF tools and website.
  • Reply to support, privacy, security, and business requests.
  • Prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and protect the service.
  • Measure performance and improve usability when analytics are enabled.
  • Serve and measure advertising when advertising is enabled.
  • Meet legal, accounting, and compliance obligations.

5. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your PDF files. We may share the limited information described above with providers that help us host, secure, analyze, email, or monetize the service, and when disclosure is required by law. Those providers may process information in countries other than where you live.

We do not intentionally share document contents with analytics or ad providers. Optional third-party integrations are controlled by you and may have their own data practices.

6. Retention and security

Locally processed PDFs are not retained by us as part of the tool workflow. Contact messages are normally retained only as long as needed to respond, maintain support records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. We aim to delete routine support messages within 12 months after the request is resolved unless a longer period is reasonably necessary.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your own copy of important files and use a current, trusted browser and device.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, use our Contact page. We may need to verify your request before completing it.

8. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions and privacy requests can be sent through our Contact page.
